Compare McCartney III Imagined: Some Winners, One Loser

Paul McCartney recruited some modern musicians to remix and add their vibe to his latest album McCartney III. The results were a mixed bag. In some cases, they understood the soul of the song and really brought out the best parts of the song. Others were almost hits but didn’t land as well. It was interesting to compare this project with the original.

Compare McCartney III Imagined with McCartney III

Overall, the album was an interesting exercise and came out remarkably cohesive. He chose an interesting mix of up and coming and well established artists with whom to work. and, it yielded interesting results. In case he ever reads this, I would love to see him work with Kanye West and Rihanna again.

McCartney III is the 18th solo album by English musician Paul McCartney, released on 18 December 2020 by Capitol Records. It serves as a continuation to his solo albums McCartney (1970) and McCartney II (1980). Like those albums, McCartney III features McCartney on all instruments. The album was met with widespread acclaim from music critics. The album became McCartney’s first UK number-one solo album since Flowers in the Dirt in 1989 and debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.
